International consensus on infections associated with shoulder arthroscopy.
The proposed modified Delphi study aims to identify best-practice recommendations for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment by combining a structured literature search with the experience of an international expert panel.
Academic independence
The study remains an investigator-led PhD project under the supervision, ethics requirements, and governance of the participating academic institutions. SERN is the broader networking vision, not the study sponsor or data owner.

ABOUT THE BEGINNING
Founder-led today. Collaborative by design.
SERN began with a simple observation.
While building an international shoulder research project, it became clear that excellent researchers often existed across countries—but there was no simple way for them to find one another and discover opportunities to collaborate.
SERN was created to help bridge that gap.
The initiative was founded independently by Anissa Feby Canintika, an orthopaedic surgeon from Indonesia and founder of OrthoFellow.

No. It remains an investigator-led PhD project governed by its study team, supervisors, participating institutions, and applicable ethics requirements. It is presented as the real-world research experience that inspired the broader network vision.
Does expressing interest guarantee participation?＋
No. It begins a conversation. Study investigators retain responsibility for panel selection, collaborator eligibility, and final team composition.
Can researchers outside the initial regions participate?＋
Expressions of interest are welcome internationally. Participation in any specific project will depend on its protocol, expertise requirements, geographic aims, and available coordination capacity.
Does SERN collect patient data?＋
No identifiable patient data is collected or hosted on this public website. Any future clinical study would require separate approved systems, agreements, and institutional governance.
How will authorship be decided?＋
Authorship belongs at project level and should follow transparent, contribution-based criteria agreed before work begins. Joining SERN alone does not confer authorship.
Is there a membership fee?＋
No fee is being charged during this founder-led pilot. SERN is currently focused on learning whether the network is useful and scientifically viable.
